In February, the Linda Mae Mahon Lema Foundation was awarded a Sacramento County Neighborhood Development Grant, courtesy of Supervisor Don Notolli, in the amount of $2,500 to underwrite the live performance at our LMML Foundation Performance and Dinner on September 30, 2017. Supervisor Notolli has been an early and staunch supporter of the LMML Foundation’s mission to capture and share oral histories of the Greater Area of Elk Grove, and to bring those stories to life through the visual and performing arts.
This year’s dinner performance, as with last year, will feature a live play reading which portrays an area family’s history, as drawn from our 2017 recordings. In addition to several very accomplished local actors performing in the play reading, the evening will include live music and singing by local musical talent and will highlight some very unique aspects of life in the Elk Grove area at the turn of the 20th Century.
The LMML Foundation Performance and Dinner event will be held September 30, 2017 at the Willow Ballroom at the River Road Exchange in Hood, CA. The venue is a very large and beautiful indoor setting nestled in the historic fruit and vegetable packing and shipping complex along the Sacramento River in Hood.
Early tickets for the 2017 Foundation Performance and Dinner event will go on sale in July.
